I heard on the radio this morning that fuel over here in the UK is just over double what you’re paying in the US…

Oh, I know it is…this isn’t meant as a “woe is us” argument. You guys are certainly getting hosed, too. We’ve just gotten so used to paying a certain amount when it skyrockets we get a little testy. The place near my home has gone up 10¢ per gallon, per day, almost since we moved in.
And now my commute to work is 20 miles, my wife drives 12, and they’re in different directions. It all just adds up.

The other day my husband was cheerful when he filled up at $3.91. Who’dathunk’it?

Glad I had that Flux Capacitor installed last week…Wait, that only operates the time circuits, the car still runs on ordinary gasoline! Dammit!

Yeah, suddenly my husband’s 3/4 ton Dodge diesel that we kept in storage for four years while we lived overseas doesn’t seem like such a good decision. When he bought it, diesel was cheaper than gas and of course the diesel truck gets much better mileage than a gas equivalent. But now that diesel is about a dollar more than gas, which puts it over 5 bucks a gallon down here, he’s riding a motorcycle to work. For the record, I voted to sell the damn thing four years ago

Couldn’t have put it any better myself. Can someone tell me why prices per barrel are going down but the pumps have not?
