The corporate policy book no employee ever seems to locate. Then again, a Ninja’s allowed to do some freelance work too

Oh, we all have a copy of the employee manual. It’s four inches thick and in a giant binder. The issue isn’t having one, it’s actually taking the time to read it. Or care enough to try.
BC, I received and email that stated “…holiday lights if left on for long periods of time could pose a fire hazard.” I sent back an email that said basically they weren’t plugged in so I’m going to put them back up (they didn’t ninja-fy them into bits, they just took them down), because they won’t be plugged in. The follow-up email I got back stated that the lights, even unplugged, have the potential to cause a fire because some well-meaning person could plug them in and leave them unattended. This was also copied to my supervisor.
I know when I’m beat…there are some battles we’ll never win.
