Happy Blog Action Day!
So today is Blog Action Day, set aside for people to bring attention to the environment through their blogs. At first I thought I’d support it only through that handy banner ad they gave me, but then I decided, why not really take some sort of action? You know, for the sake of the readers.
Nobody’s ever accused me of being an environmentalist, that’s for sure. I turn off the water while I’m brushing my teeth or washing the car, and I recycle if given the opportunity, but aside from that, I’m not one who has been really known for my efforts in the green movement.
But today, I thought I’d try something new. Partially because I didn’t have anything to say today, and partially because I had to leave my car at the garage to have the remnants of the brick removed from my control arms, I rode my bike to work today. That may not sound like such a big deal, but it’s something. And if my heart rate ever slows down to the point where I can hear my voice mail over the pounding in my ears I may be able to get some work done.

After getting to know some of you, I’ve determined that most of you bloggers out there either don’t currently work in a typical cube farm-type company, or are just a little unfamiliar with how life in these adult hamster cages work. With that in mind, I’ve decided to make my transition from the round peg of a freelancer to the square block of a corporate America an educational experience. This way, the young readers can determine if the rectangular path is one they want to pursue or avoid. Others who already live in the Office Space world can sympathize and we can swap stories. That, and nobody likes to hear others complain about their job.
