Sometimes you just need to veg out and doodle for a little while. Or at least I do. And for that, I love SketchFu.

Joe, you are quite the artist. I am always so happy to discover something new about my fellow bloggers. I have never heard of sketchfu but it looks cool. I will have to try it!

I don’t quite understand how it works, but the cool thing is that it allows you to see the work develop through the eyes of the creator…even if I don’t try to get out there and doodle, I always enjoy seeing the other works. Some of it is really amazing.

How cool is that!?! You even put light “highlights” from the porch! What a cool sketch. Nicely done, Mr. Java Addict.

Thanks Amber. Details are my thing…it’s the big picture that I usually mess up. You know, life imitating art, or is it the other way around?
BC - I know you work a lot with real paints and paper, but isn’t that site a cleaner, faster version? I really like the painterly look it achieves.

Hah, if you miss the big picture in life as much as I do, then I’ve found a kindred spirit.
Y’know, I thought the exact same thing when I bought “Chase This Light”, that the tracks all kind of sounded the same at first, and I was disappointed too. But they have a tendency to do that…well, except for their album “Bleed American”. That one is their best one, IMO. But like you, I gave it another listen, and another, and another. I’ve had it on repeat for days, and that’s where my review came in. It really grew on me, and I fell in love with those couple of songs I mentioned in particular. There are a few songs, definitely, that I don’t think are good enough to have made the album (fillers, if you will), but otherwise they made a good record.
So to sum up a really long comment, I agree with you.
